Los Primos is 25 years old!
It in 1998 when the first group of young Cuban music students came to Nova Scotia to take part in the Acadia Jazz Camp. They also played at the Halifax Jazz Festival and took part in music clinics with local music students in Truro and New Glasgow. Since that time Los Primos has sponsored more than 20 student trips to and from Cuba and more that 30 exchanges with professional musicians. The project has delivered almost 900 instruments to Cuba, provided instruments to many Nova Scotian musicians and helped raise almost half a million dollars for music education in Nova Scotia.
Come celebrate this milestone with us at the Marigold theatre and hear some great Cuban music with Eclecticus.
